ON ANY GIVEN DAY, WE’RE DESIGNING AND MANAGING OUR CLIENTS’ MARKETING NEEDS. Our work ranges FROM WEBSITES TO PRINT AND RADIO ADVERTISING, VIDEOGRAPHY, MARKETING PLAN and MAJOR EVENTS.
AT APPEARANCES, WE EMBRACE COMMUNITY SERVICE. YOU WILL SEE OUR TEAM MEMBERS' NAMES ON STATE AND CITY COMMISSIONs and NATIONAL AND LOCAL NONPROFIT BOARDS.
Donna is the fearless leader and proprietor of Appearances Marketing and Promotion. With more than 35 years of experience, all while working from Moscow and into the region beyond, you can always expect the extraordinary. Donna’s favorite Pantone color changes with each project (and every pair of shoes.) Her secret power really isn’t a secret at all: Donna has a brain with a million ideas and with the ability to pivot and change gears quickly; Donna is a force to be reckoned with. All Appearances clients meet with Donna before we get started on a new project. From our gallery-like office to the way she envisions projects, her love and excitement for all things art echoes in everything she does and touches.
Elizabeth, more commonly known around the office as ‘E,’ juggles being an Executive MBA candidate while keeping the office in check as our accountant executive (among the millions of other things she does!). She’s one of the few in the office who doesn’t need glasses or contacts, and doesn’t have a pet. E proves her awesomeness by all the cool places she travels (Italy and her upcoming Grand Cayman trip, just to name a few). When asked what her creative secret power was, she responded “Herding cats,” which is the honest truth. Elizabeth is the best at what she does and she’s most likely the first person you’ll see when walking into our office.
Bill is our head photographer, press proofer and office Yoda. He compares the joys of Pantone colors to the various flavors of ice cream in the world, as they all are a favorite. You won’t find Bill singing karaoke and while he is extremely cautious around candles, Bill is the absolute best at what he does. He has an eye for what needs to get done, what shots need to be made, and knows which lighting will capture the picture-perfect image. He definitely holds the super-secret creative power of The Force.
Peter is one of Appearances' digital production specialists, a design creative, and a videographer who is often seen with a slew of camera gear slung over his shoulder … and sometimes a snazzy new drone. Peter’s love for Pantone’s Cool Grey is just a snippet of his cool ways, giving light to his super secret power of being able to focus in the midst of utter chaos. Peter has solid skills with the camera, both still and motion, that will make any project of yours light up.
Rrrobin Lopez is one of our creative directors…and single? As one of our design Swiss Army Knives, Robin L switches from from contacts to glasses depending on the project at hand, as he's serious about seeing your work through the best eyes possible. Although you may not see him at the karaoke bar on Friday night ... and he can’t (or wont’t?) tell us which candle scent is his favorite, Robin's work in design, photography and marketing are deliberate and sensational. He is a taco lover and holds a resume full of friendly qualifications. Whether Robin’s around the globe or in Moscow, quality is always designed and delivered.
Heather is one of our creative directors and a jack of all trades, killing it with her photography, writing and design skills. A recent graduate from the University of Idaho’s BFA program with a double major in fine art and creative writing, Heather likes to keep the creativity alive. She likes traveling the globe and rocking large 50s glasses while mostly running on coffee and french fries. You may have seen her around the Prichard getting messy with their After School Art Program or chasing her two adorable children, who have her wrapped around their little fingers. Though she likes to start every project old-school in a sketchbook, you won’t be surprised at all with the polished end product.
Max is another one of our copywriters and editors. He is an avid reader and crossword puzzle crusher. Max hails from and still lives in Seattle, and while he plays host to three fuzzy felines, he dreams of owning a little cottontail. Max possesses the secret power of articulating complexities in a clear and concise manner, which means he can help organize and polish any batch of jumbled thoughts and ideas. Max is all about hot sauce (tacos, anyone?) but says that he likes to keep it saucy and piquant. A master’s graduate from Full Sail University with a creative writing focus, Max specializes in bringing color and creativity to technical writing. He’s fabulous at what he does, and you can rest assured that if Max is on your project it will be nothing less then sensational.
Robin is a freelance organizational development consultant with Robin Ohlgren Consulting. She is Class A-classy all the way, from her design-forward Mini Cooper to her love of classic colors. Robin O holds the secret creative power of 'going rogue' ... which is what you want when the pressure is on. Her class continues to the places she travels (New York, New York, anyone?) and all the way to the packages she puts together for her clients. Robin is top notch and can help you get a flat and grounded project up in the air with grace and sass.
Melissa is an affiliate designer with her own firm, R design. She’s got mad Adobe skills and can make the impossible seem possible 9.9 times out of 10, making her a design rock star and lifesaver. Melissa craves toast, cherishes her sweet Corgi, enjoys a citrusy candle at home and in the office, and looks forward to her daily "New York Times." Melissa’s calm demeanor and wizard ways with all the technical aspects of design make any project of any scale achievable.
Mackenzie is our high school intern. 'Kenzie' loves Panda Express, painting white rabbits, making phone calls, and is pretty darn cheerful about anything we ask her to do. Her favorite Pantone color is Pale Dogwood, which echoes her wardrobe and sweet personality. On most afternoons around the office, you will find her making sure that all the small things get the attention they deserve. Mackenzie loves golden retrievers and squirrels, so it’s probably safe to say you will always have a friend in Kenzie.
EDGAR CHARLES SUTTON
Edgar likes to say his position at Appearances is being Donna’s favorite nephew, though this has nothing to do with his job here. Edgar keeps things light and humorous around the office. Edgar loves chocolate and dogs … though he’s careful to not let the dogs get the chocolate! As a current student at the University of Idaho, he’s recently learned that his super-secret creative power is having the ability to write a 12-page essay with no research in three hours. When he’s not being creative as a student, Edgar is another of our Swiss Army Knives and you are bound to see him at our events or lending a helping hand around the office.
Amelia is our Creative Content Specialist, which is a fancy way of saying writer and editor who can spot an extra space between words or punctuation from 50 paces. Needless to say, she’s a word ninja. If you happen to get caught in a conversation about color with Amelia, you might be there a while — she’s an adamant lover of all hues and gets excited about spreading color (and paisley) everywhere. She is also an animal lover, with four cats and three new chickens. Amelia is a Washington State graduate and worked in our office for a while before moving off site for grad school. Amelia is the lady we call to proof things before they go out into the public eye. You can trust that with Amelia on the team, every 't' will be crossed, every 'i' dotted, and every Oxford comma added (or taken away, as you desire).
